COLLEGE PARK HIGH SCHOOL TUNE-UP
Announcing our 2024 High School tune-up! This program is for all high school players. The purpose of this program is to get players prepared for the high school season. We want to prevent injuries and gradually get the players ready. The games are in a controlled environment where pitchers are on pitch counts. There is nothing during the weekdays in order to avoid conflicts with the player’s actual high schools. The program consists of 4 weekends (Sat or Sun will be assigned) throughout January (Jan 6 or 7, Jan 13 or 14, Jan 20 or 21, and Jan 27 or 28) that will gradually build up the players for their Spring seasons. All games or workouts will occur at Bellarmine or Willow Glen HS. The 4 weekends will look like this:
- players will be assigned teams according to their position after the first weekend
- we will do all of the pro-style testing that is done at most HS tryouts at some point before the games (60s, inf throws, of throws, catcher pop times, etc.).
- the last 3 weekends the players need to plan on begin there 1 hour early for their testing/bp/gbs/fbs
Jan 6 or 7- 3 hour workout (if any pitchers are ready to throw live they will) consisting of BP, ground balls, fly balls, bullpens for pitchers, and coach pitch simulations.
Jan 13 or 14- Games (depends on the # of pitchers) where pitchers will throw 20-30 pitches if ready. Hitters will get at least 3 live at bats (hopefully more, but depends on the # of pitchers).
Jan 20 or 21- Games (depends on the # of pitchers) where pitchers will throw 25-35 pitches if ready. Hitters will get at least 3 live at bats (hopefully more, but depends on the # of pitchers).
Jan 27-28- Game with # of innings that will depend on the tryout schedule for each player’s school. For example if the player is throwing that Monday for tryout, they will not throw this weekend. We want to make sure they are fresh for tryouts. If the player doesn’t have to pitch until Wednesday or later they will pitch this weekend. If there aren’t enough pitchers we will go into a coach pitch game at the end. Plan on 3 hours.
Cost for the camp is $260 and includes a CP Jersey shirt. Payments may be made by Paypal to Collegeparkknights@gmail.com
